Pitchfork Festival Preparations: Os Mutantes

All right... I had no clue who the hell this band was. And when I first listened to their music I was like "this is the silliest shit I have ever heard... and they're headlining." But then I listened a few more times and it grew on me like barnicles on the Titanic wreck. It's an infectious style of music, clearly a band proficient at their instruments, combining 60's and 70's psychadelia with a South American sound. It sneaks up on you and all of a sudden your dancing in your living room like Tom Cruise in Risky Buisness. Hopefully by the time they take the stage at the end of the second night of the festival I will still have a few ounces of energy left to boogie. I probably will because stalwart Yo La Tengo will be playing 2 acts before them, and while I like their music it definately is relax on the grass with a beer music.
